Our team successfully executed a comprehensive overhaul of the existing control system on the Riverwalk Swing Bridge located at New Farm. The project focused on simplification, sustainability, and safety enhancements. We replaced the complex PLC control system, incorporating a dual-ring communication network for improved reliability. The pedestrian gate control was revamped to enhance its safety and all electrical hardware issues were addressed, such as damaged panels, cables, and conduits, ensuring its protection and integrity. The project encompassed mechanical protection improvements, motion control device assessments, and upgrades to ensure the bridge’s optimal functionality. Our approach also included a thorough assessment and repair of damaged components, and we provided detailed engineer drawings for all hardware and control systems. The new system features an advanced interface, fault handling, and operational controls, providing operators with real-time status updates and enhanced control capabilities for improved efficiency and safety.

ACE Material Handling successfully designing, manufacturing, and installing an advanced crane for Liberty TEMCO. This project included the supply of a new 24.9m 20T/10T crane, featuring a dual hoist with a rotating crab of 270 degrees. Meticulous fabrication and comprehensive assembly in ACE workshops followed, incorporating anti-sway technology to ensure safety in the challenging environment over molten tanks. Rigorous testing, including a 110% overload test, was conducted prior to disassembling the crane for transport to Liberty TEMCO site in Tasmania. On-site assembly by ACE MHE technicians, electrical testing, and extensive training. The successful handover marked a seamless integration, meeting the highest safety standards and operational requirements.

We embarked on an intriguing endeavour to construct a versatile maintenance platform equipped with multiple hoists, specifically tailored for the repair and modernisation of city trains. At the heart of this initiative lies the seamless replacement of AC units, modernisation of pantograph systems, and the installation of new cabin windows. Ensuring worker safety amidst the intricate machinery was paramount in our design process. Collaborating closely with the existing infrastructure, including the HV track lines spanning the building, we meticulously integrated safety measures to prevent operation while the HV lines are active. Incorporating gap closure panels and a secure dual-key system, we guarantee the utmost safety for personnel working on the moving gantry, mitigating potential hazards, and facilitating smooth operations.

Introducing our innovative Galvanizing Hoist, a specialised adaptation of the renowned Donati hoist tailored to excel in the demanding environments of the galvanizing industry. Engineered to withstand the harsh conditions inherent in galvanizing processes, this hoist delivers unparalleled durability, reliability, and performance. With numerous successful installations across galvanizing facilities, including clients like Valmont Coatings Australia, our hoists have consistently proven their effectiveness in optimising operations and ensuring seamless material handling. Designed with precision and backed by extensive expertise, this hoist stands as a testament to our commitment to providing tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients in the galvanizing sector.

We conducted works in restoration and preservation of historical artifacts, our recent project involving the iconic Canberra Bomber. Our comprehensive approach included the careful installation of runway mats and towing of the bomber from its canopy, followed by crane operations to refurbish structural connections and install new concrete pads and display mounts. With precision craftsmanship, we manufactured bespoke mounts and laid out an exposed aggregate footpath, all while incorporating state-of-the-art LED lighting. The bomber was delicately returned to its position, surrounded by lush turf, marking another successful chapter in our commitment to celebrating and safeguarding history.

Our vibrating hook assembly is an essential tool in the hot dip galvanizing process, designed to efficiently remove excess molten zinc from steelwork. Crafted from durable engineered steel, our assembly features a three-piece frame tailored to the specific rated capacity of the load it supports. Central to its design is a sophisticated four-post spring system, which provides stability and support to the top hanging plate assembly and the bottom frame housing the three-phase electric vibrating ‘Wacker’ motor and load suspension hook. When in operation, the Wacker motor generates vibrations through off-set weights, effectively shaking off excess zinc and leaving behind a smoother, drip-free product. This not only reduces costs by minimising the thickness of the zinc coating but also streamlines the product dressing process, saving valuable time before sending it back to the customer. With the bottom frame supported by springs, we ensure that vibrations are efficiently contained, minimising impact on the overhead crane’s hook, wire ropes, and main assembly, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency and longevity.
